DE Technologies has over 30 years of experience in warhead and
armor design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing.
Key Benefits
- Experienced designers and program managers
- State of the art in computational tools
- Complete service, from customer requirements to tested prototype
Capabilities
We can handle all aspects of R&D projects, from program planning to
execution, with professional management.

Hydrocode computation, radiograph, and target damage of a DET-designed
Explosively Formed Penetrator.
- Warhead Design
- Shaped charges, explosively formed penetrators (EFP), fragment warheads,
reactive fragments
- Armor Design
- Heavy and light armor for protection against shaped charges, EFPs,
kinetic-energy penetrators
- Performance Assessment
- Ballistic testing: explosives, warheads, guns, armor, instrumentation
- Underwater Warheads
- Analysis, testing
Recent Projects
The breadth of our capabilities is demonstrated by a few recent projects:
- Mongoose Development
- DET was responsible for the design, development, and production
engineering of the shaped charges used in this rapid mine-clearing system.
- Trajectory Stability
- DET is developing means of insuring stable, straight paths by
penetrating munitions traveling long distances through sand and soils.
- Torpedo Warhead
- DET is developing an advanced shaped-charge warhead for the Navy's next
generation torpedo.
- Reactive Material Enhanced Warhead
- DET, teamed with the Naval Surface Warfare Center, developed and
demonstrated an anti-air warhead that projected fragments of reactive
material, which provides a catastrophic kill capability.
-
Humanitarian Demining Flare (external link)
- DET helped develop a flare-like device that uses surplus Space Shuttle
rocket propellant to ignite a landmine's explosive without detonating it.
Now marketed by ATK Thiokol.
