Recent Projects

The breadth of our capabilities is demonstrated by a few recent projects:

Mongoose Development
DET was responsible for the design, development, and production engineering of the shaped charges used in this rapid mine-clearing system.
Trajectory Stability
DET is developing means of insuring stable, straight paths by penetrating munitions traveling long distances through sand and soils.
Torpedo Warhead
DET is developing an advanced shaped-charge warhead for the Navy's next generation torpedo.
Reactive Material Enhanced Warhead
DET, teamed with the Naval Surface Warfare Center, developed and demonstrated an anti-air warhead that projected fragments of reactive material, which provides a catastrophic kill capability.
Humanitarian Demining Flare (external link)
DET helped develop a flare-like device that uses surplus Space Shuttle rocket propellant to ignite a landmine's explosive without detonating it. Now marketed by ATK Thiokol.
